Translate to English: The Mink-Mini marathon N'Djamena-Kousseri is making a comeback after a period of interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With four months remaining until this sporting event, preparations are gaining momentum. Everything is being done to ensure its resounding success. Launched in 2017, the N'Djamena-Kousseri International Half Marathon will be held for the third time on September 9th, 2023. Honorable Kamssouloum Abba Kabir, the patron of the competition, stated that this press conference, held a few months prior, was primarily intended to respond to the requests of athletes and the public who were eager for the return of this activity. Specifically, the press conference aimed to inform partners so that they can effectively mobilize to ensure the smooth running of this major sporting event. Being held in a crisis-stricken area characterized by attacks from the Islamist sect Boko Haram, the promoter has stated that all security measures will be implemented. The defense forces will be involved in this effort. During the first two successful editions, the Ministry of Defense also deployed military personnel to ensure the security of athletes and the public. This Mink-Mini marathon will mainly aim to engage the populations of N'Djamena and Kousseri in sports, promote peace, fraternity, and social cohesion, as well as strengthen friendship and brotherhood between the peoples of Cameroon and Chad. The upcoming third edition aims to break participation records, with 1000 participants expected instead of the previous 700. According to Honorable Kamsouloum, "the innovation is that the athletes will be taken care of by experts from the Confederation." This is logical as the sporting event is now included in the championship calendar, and "approval will be granted by technicians sent by the African Athletics Confederation," the promoter of the mini-marathon proudly states. Although the competition primarily involves Cameroonian and Chadian athletes, there are also foreign participants. The distance of the course is 22.26km, starting from the city center of N'Djamena and ending in Kousseri. The winner of this third edition, which has the slogan "fraternity, peace, and social cohesion in Africa," will receive a prize of 2.5 million FCFA.
